Hi Karen (& Tony)
How lovely to hear from you! We had a ball – thank you. Always do up there. We
ended up staying until the final act at Settlers Sunday night, then I drove
home! It was rather bleak but worth it.
Looking forward to next year – so will be in touch. Felt very comfortable and at
home in your lovely unit – thank you!
Thanks again!!

Hi Karen & Tony,
The trip home was fairly good - got caught in a deluge and could hardly see
the roadworks (: I must admit I was happy to get home - you always want to
warp yourself home after the racing is actually done.
As usual we really enjoyed the stay at Mount Beauty ... and we always want
to stay on (i don't have that feeling when I visit most other places for
racing!) ... A huge thanks to you and tony for everything as usual -
especially allowing us to shower after the short track event on Sunday. We
looked like brown ninjas when we finished riding through the mud and rain..
he he and we were both stoked to feel showered and normal again before
setting out on the trip for home.
Hope to be back down sooner rather than later.
I hope that you have a fabulous winter season and that you get to ski at
least 5 times a week!!!

Hi Tony and Karen
Sorry we missed you when we checked out this morning. We had a great stay in
the Arthur Unit, just loved the view from the balcony and with the full moon
it was spectacular. Sure beats the flat land round Shepparton.
Hopefully will be back one day.

Thanks so much for your excellent hospitality. We didn't fill out the survey
because there was no column for "excellent". That was the only one we would have
used.
Here's a jar of pum & apricot jam I made last week. I confess I have not tested
this batch, so I hope it's ok, but I haven't had a disaster so far, so I hope
it's ok. I took a card, so if we decide to come to Mt Beauty soon, I know where
to stay. My regards to the very cool 'Alwyn'

We really enjoyed your hospitality which was very warm.
We wished we could have stayed longer, because of the nice unit, great view but
mostly because of you two.
We wont hesitate to stay at the Alpenhorn again should an opportunity arise and
we will recommend it to our friends.

Thanks so much for a great stay again, we totally loved it and wish it was

We went for the cats this weekend cos the power are a an arrogant side. We took
some flak from a waitress at breakfast at the Halls gap hotel we stayed in but
we soon got over it as she was a collingwood supporter. Thank god the power
didnt win!!
I hope we see you and Tony next season, should be a cracker! take care and keep

Thank you for providing us with such an excellent service last weekend. We have extremely enjoyed the stay at the “Arthur” apartment.
We are considering visiting Falls Creek again next month and I was wondering if you could check the accommodation availability for the following weekend as set below:
Arrive Friday 17th of August for 2 nights until Sunday 19th of August or Arrive Friday 24th of August for 2 nights until Sunday 26th of August. At this stage we need to accommodate 4 adults and 1 child, however I was hoping to find out if you have one bedroom apartments to accommodate 2 adults and 1 child as well.
I look forward hearing from you soon.

Thank you for your hospitality again this year. Our family group biking holiday

hosts! Sorry about the fly screens!!!!!
The same group would like to return for the same period for 2007/2008.
So the 5 front units (4 x 2 bedroom & 1 x 1 single bedroom) in on Friday 28th
December 2007 and out on Friday 4th January 2008. Same booking as this year.
We'll obviously confirm with you later in the year. Good luck with the sale of

Karen I'm hoping you are feeling better than you did in the new year.

G'Day Karen and Tony,
Just watched an ABC TV doc on 2003 fires and thought of you. How were you
affected this time round?
Bethany speaks often of 'JIM', Zac too speaks very fondly of our stay at 'JIM'.
Must say that view will stay with us forever.
A funny thought - we acquired on 2.12.06 a 3 week old bull calf ( long story,
but would have been knocked on the head if we didn't take him), and what did our
kids collectively call him? "JIM" as you do!
Bethany's had her 6th b'day (07.12.06) she's been planning the next one ever
since, one day she might sit still and not change her clothes every 5 minutes.
Took kids to "walking with Dinosaurs" fantastic, expensive, but Zac is very
likely to become a paleontologist. Isabella's just funny, and growing fast. Just
praying for rain. dead grass and dust, no green left. Lots of dry storms, lucky
we have town & tank water. Hope this finds you both well, love to hear from you
soon.
Warm regards
Jenny and Adrian Mills ( + kids).

and stayed in East Melbourne for a week. We both really enjoyed our holiday

very much appreciated your hospitality and the beautiful room and views (as
well as the friendly Lysander's company). Peter very much appreciated being

Dear Tony and Karen,
This is a just a note to tell you that we think Alpenhorn is just fabulous.
As you know, we have been coming to Alpenhorn for many years now, within
which time we have even brought other family members (along with some new
additions) along to stay in adjacent apartments. Basically, we and the kids
simply love it.
In my work life, I travel the world staying at luxury hotels (boring,
seriously!). However in all honesty, none of the places I visit compare to
Alpenhorn for many reasons. Here are just a few:
1) Wonderful hosts (ie: yourselves)
2) The clean, spacious apartments which keep improving year after year.
Joining the
two adjacent apartments via the new
magnificent balcony has been terrific.
3) The view of Mount Bogong from the front apartments (we are always
lucky to
stay in Arthur or Emu)
4) Oh yes, Falls Creek is nearby.
In short, it feels like a "home away from home".
We are staying a full 7 days this year because each stay in previous years
always seemed to be so short. We don't feel the need to go ski-ing each day
because the stay here is simply so relaxing, but it is great to see
snow-capped Mount Bogong from the lounge-room. 7 days will still seem too
short !
Many, many thanks for all your help and for making our stay such a pleasant
one, yet again. Of course, health willing, we will return next year and
possibly try to manage a summer escape here as well.

Hi Tony and Karen,
I just wanted to thank-you for such a great weekend at Mount Beauty.
Although most of us found the run quite difficult we enjoyed the weekend
immensely. It is a great spot you have there and the unit was absolutely lovely.
The little touches that put around the place make it really special and loved
the fact that you turned the electric blankets on for us....now we might have to
get one at home after you spoiled us so much!
We ended up climbing Mt Bogong on the Sunday in absolutely perfect weather.
There was a great view from the top and at the time the walk didn't seem so bad.
It took us 3 hrs each way and was well worth it, but it was a very quiet trip
home with everyone taking turns at having a little nap. Just feeling like the
body is recovering now as also came back to lots of uni work with exams this
week.
Anyway all the best and I hope you will have us back next year!
Pls say hello to Di if you are talking to her again as she really was my
lifeline in getting me to the finish!

And we will definitely be telling all our friends at church and at work about
the Alpenhorn. The apartment was comfortable and very clean with nothing
lacking. I personally liked what you did with the bathroom. It is very

Dear Karen, Dear Tony,
We are back in Germany and I'm myself still on working again. It is not easy
after a very nice tour through Australia, to go to the office again - but I had
to go anyway.
The rest of our tour was very nice and a great experience for all of us. The
performance with the orchestra in the Sydney Opera House was of course the
absolutely highlight of our tour. In the north we enjoyed the warm weather and
on the gold coast in surfers paradise is was warmer and sunnier in the winter
than in Germany in the summer.
We enjoyed our stay in Mt Beauty very much. There was also a special touch, that
we have got from all the people.
Especially it was your both great hospitality to all of us chaperons in your
hotel. The remember the big support (driving us to the store at the first
evening, the support to get in the jogging group and the support in the solution
of our special problem by calling the police station etc) very well, and I don't
want to forget, to say thank very very much again, even in the name of all the
members of our group.
The road signs of Kangaroo Hoppet will still find their places in our rehearsal

Just thought I would drop you a brief comment about the best holiday location in

At the end of last year we finally made the break, sold up in Darwin and settled
down in our own place only a few hundred metres further out from Mt. Beauty
township.
The countryside here is some of the most picturesque in Australia (we think it's
the best) Until we bought our own place on the hill we always stayed at the

always that fabulous view.
All the best.

By chance my family and I stayed a night at Alpenhorn in Easter 2000. We liked
it so much we came back for a week the next Easter and another week this
year—and we’ll be back again. It’s a wonderful spot: lovely rooms, a swimming
pool (from Easter on, for the brave or mad only!) and a view you’ll never
forget. Most importantly, Tony and Karen are wonderful hosts—more like friends.
Nothing is too much trouble: they want you to love the Kiewa valley as much as
they do. And after you’ve been in the mountains a day or two you’ll find that
easy to do.
All the best Tony and Karen

Many thanks for sending on the parcel from the post office. Thanks especially
for your hospitality during our stay. It was very relaxing for us all and as
Karen noted yesterday, she read three books in seven days at the Alpenhorn and
has barely read a page since.
Regards,
Karen, Brendan, Daniel, Anna, Nicholas and Freya Rodway

Dear Karen and Tony,
We stayed at Alpenhorn for 2 nights at the beginning of May. You were not home
when we left, so just a quick note to say thank you.
We very much enjoyed our time with you, and hope to come again - may be for
longer this time. We have looked at your web site. You said we could participate
in a survey for tourism in the area. I can not find this on the web site. Let us
know how to do this. Thank you once again for a delightful holiday. We were also
very impressed with the help we received from the tourism office. Both the
volunteer and the staff were very helpful and helped us plan walks and cycling
in the area.
Best wishes for a great snow season!

Dear Karen and Tony,
How's it going? A few days have passed since we arrived home and we've noticed
from your website that you still have perfect weather! Thanks for your great
hospitality once again. We always feel very much at home in Mt Beauty, and you
both certainly contribute to that feeling. Our Easter visit to the Alpenhorn is
one we look forward to every year. How can we
forget that lovely Sunday afternoon we spent with you at Annapurna Estate
tasting wine and eating antipasto, or your breakfast cook-up at Alpenhorn on
Easter Monday? We always come back home feeling revitalised and more motivated.
It is something about the fresh mountain air and the magic of Mount Beauty.
Please save our favourite flat for next year won't you! We'll be in touch
soon to let you know the dates.
fond regards,
Linda and Mike Parkinson

Hi there,
We are resubmerged in work and I cannot believe that it its the middle of Feb
already. Sorry for the lack of communication - I allow myself to get too easily
distracted by the day to day business of work! Hope that life in the lovely Mt
Beauty is going well and that you are overwhelmed with guests!
We certainly had a wonderful time and have been telling everyone who will listen
what a great place MtB is for a holiday and that there is only one place to
stay!. We are keeping up the bike riding. Had a lovely flat one this am 30km
round trip to the beach. It was a perfect morning. I gather you had the National
MTB championships in Mt B on the Aust Day long w/e - did you get to see any of
the action. We spent the w/e camped at a little town up on the Murray River near
Renmark. It was extremely hot but we did a couple of good rides off road along
the river. Flat but interesting and so within my skill level! How is your riding
going Tony? I have been route planning for my big trip later in the year. I fly
out of Australia on June 19 to London and then will ride to the coast and catch
the Ferry to France and then sort of just head SE. Should be great!.
Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality over Christmas. Hopefully we'll be
back to pick up our owed Annapurna at some stage. Take care and keep up the good
work - you are making something quite special you know.
